I love the first image because its very natural and not forced. He did not have to force his smile. The lighting is good and I like the reflection aspect the photo as well, it helps create a nice looking image. The second and third image sort of go together they both show natural and nice relaxation of the subject. The lighting in both images is perfect because its not too bright. This is important because I believe it give the images a more relaxing vibe because they are a bit dark. The fourth image also has great lighting even though it is brighter beacuse of the sun rays right on the subject. The fifth image is nice because is truly shows how relaxing a nice day at the pool is. The lighting is perfect and balanced and the subject is in good frame. The sixth image shows the subject hanging out on the end of the water slide and this image is nice because the flower is also incorporated and it helps to create a relaxing mood. The seventh image shows the subject relaxing next to the pool. I love the color contrast the blue stripes on the towel adds to the image. The final image shows the subject enjoying a wonderful snack by the pool, the best part of a nice pool day. The framing is nice, the blue color contrast is nice, and the overall image creates the correct mood showing off a perfect and relaxing pool day.
I do personally believe that each image is essential to the essay because each one shows a different aspect of a relaxing pool day. The only thing I would critique about the image sequence, is that the two that are similar I may change around and show another aspect as well. What unites the sequence is the fact that the subject is moving all around the entire space of the backyard/pool area and enjoying all of it. When it comes to visual variety I do think I could have added more variety because the color contrast is the same vibe for pretty much all of the photos and I wish I would have done that differently. I do believe that the images are sequenced for maximum impact, information, and emotion because again it shows the subject enjoying himself and moving all around the given space. The mood these images create is a positive one. This is a happy nad relaxing mood and the images do a great job of creating just that. This set of images communicates that laying on floats, eating poolside, and even relaxing on chairs gives a relaxing pool day. I do believe that other people can relate to having a relaxing pool day. What sounds better than coming home after a long day and relaxing by the pool and eating good snacks? Nothing does. One way the project could be improved is by changing up the lighting and maybe adding some depth of field in more of the images. I think this would help craete sharp images and they would be more enjoyable to look at. This could also focus on a single subject to emphasis it.
